Another great birthday! Lots of fun and loads of presents. The evening started with a game of Twister, a very short game. Then came a delicious pasta with pumpkin marinara sauce and a veggie salad. All from the gourmet kitchen of the Barnetts, of course. Finally, the house lights dimmed and birthday candles lit up the place. "Happy Birthday" was followed by an almost solid chocolate cake picked out by Jack and Namy. Delicious and decadent and we ate seconds and thirds. Jack, who loves birthdays more than anyone, helped blow out the candles and open the presents.

Exploring Dublin
View from my hotel and a visit to Picadilly Circus
View of Hyde Park in the morning from my room at the Royal Lancaster.
View from my hotel.
Carol bundled up exploring Picadilly Cirus area.
London at night. We took a chilly walk our last night in London. We shopped at TopShop, had lunch at Yo Sushi at Selfridges and walked all over taking refuge in pubs for a pint now and then. We ended our night with an Inidan curry meal and thought of you all.

London with the fabulous Carol LaMadrid

In London, I stayed at a great hotel the Royal Lancaster. It boasts panoramic views of Hyde Park. I was lucky enough to be here for the biggest storms Europe has seen in ages complete with hurricane-force winds. People and trees were blowing down streets all over England.
Somehow Carol's plane made it in from Geneva in all that wind. We have had a great time catching up and planning to write a musical together.
We dined with Jo last night at a great little Italian place near Notting Hill called Centonove. We sipped Sangiovese, laughed a good deal and caught up with Auntie Jo. The winds subsided a bit and we were able to walk home through great neighborhoods and along the park.
The big controvesy here in London is the poor treatment of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother. It is causing tension with India! "There is a lot of support for Shilpa," Brown told reporters after visiting Bollywood producer Yash Raj Chopra at a studio in a northern Mumbai suburb. "It is pretty clear we are getting the message across. Britain is a nation of tolerance and fairness." Too much.
